| Terms | Full
payment with order. Payment by cheque to "Silent Flights" |
| Vouchers | On receipt of payment, flying vouchers will be issued for each member of your party to cover the glider flight(s) booked. This should only be relinquished in return for the flight and after completing the club temporary membership form. |
| Safety | Gliding
is a safe sport. This is due to the importance given to
all aspects of safety, both on the ground and in the air.
Glider pilots can give an impression of casual
informality, but this should not be confused with laxity.
It is essential that all instructions are followed to the
letter. All BGA registered clubs carry appropriate public liability insurance. |
| Weather | Gliding
takes place in most conditions. For safety reasons,
take-off does not occur in fog, rain or falling snow. Low
cloud also can curtail flying. If a party member is unable to fly for whatever reason, he/she will be able to use the flight voucher for the equivalent flight at a later date at the same club. |
| Limitations | All gliding clubs have limitations of pilot height and/or weight depending on the type of gliders flown. If the voucher recipient is taller than 6' 2'' (1.88m) or heavier than 15st (95kg) please let us know the specific height and weight when booking and we will try to arrange accordingly. |
| Insurance | All people taking part in trial lessons will be required to sign club temporary membership forms prior to flying. Temporary membership gives most of the benefits of full membership for a limited period, including cover by the clubs mandatory public liability insurance. In the unlikely event of a claim, this should be directed to the Gliding Club Secretary, not to SilentFlights. |
