Large woodburning fires behind large glass doors offer a magnificent unobscured view of the flames. Large glass fronted woodburning fireplaces offer high efficiency burning combined with absolute safety, all sparks are safely kept within the fire. These woodburning fires can be installed on their own as contemporary "hole in wall" fireplaces, or incorporated into stylish natural stone fireplaces.
Glass fronted woodburning fires come in a variety of forms. The Barbas Escamo & Escamolux Woodburning Fires below are termed "fireboxes". Woodburning fireboxes have sliding doors which retract into a housing hidden inside the chimney breast, allowing re-fuelling without the chance of ash falling on to the hearth. The Barbas Unilux & Cuatro Woodburning fires and the Scan woodburning stove are "cassette" fires with conventional hinged doors, which can be inserted into a pre-prepared opening.
