Why Re-line? The Re-lining Process Benefits of Eldfast

Chimney Flue re-lining with the ELDFAST System

The chimney flue is first reamed out to clear it of soot, tar and loose mortar.
This gives the Eldfast Ceramic Coating a clean, secure surface to which it can adhere.

The Eldfast Kevlar flue lining former is attached to the cable at the bottom of the flue and the Ceramic based chimney lining material is loaded on top of the former. The Eldfast Kevlar flue lining former is attached to the cable at the bottom of the flue and the Ceramic based chimney lining material is loaded on top of the former. The former is winched up the flue evenly depositing a uniform coating of ceramic lining material along the full length of the flue.
The chimney flue is evenly coated with a ceramic lining. This follows the shape of the chimney without the need to knock out bricks in the chimney breast.
When the former reaches the top of the chimney flue, surplus material is removed and the chimney pot is refitted.
There is no need to wait for the material to set and the flue can be used next day.
