With an output of approximately 20,000 stoves each year, Hwam A/S is one of Denmark's largest stove manufacturers. Hwam woodburning stoves exhibit the style for which Denmark is justly famous. Most feature the unique automatic aeration system developed by Hwam. This system ensures that woodburning takes place in the most efficient way by providing air just where it is needed at all times. Wood burning is best done using combustion air from the top but, when lighting or re-fuelling, the extra energy of air being drawn up through the bottom grate is an advantage. Hwam contemporary woodburning stoves attend to this automatically. Most Hwam Woodburning Stoves are Defra Approved for woodburning in Smoke Control Areas under The Clean Air Act.
