What is EN13240 & Does it affect me ?

EN13240 is a stringent Europe & Scandinavian-wide Efficiency Standard. The plan was to make it illegal to sell or install a stove anywhere in Europe or Scandinavia without the EN13240 Approval. This has been applied as CE approval in the EU.

All the best manufacturers have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds developing their stoves to achieve the standard and having them certified. Only the best were ever likely to be able to achieve the standard required.

All our stoves are EN13240 Certified guaranteeing you a very high efficiency rate and the assurance that your stove has been made by a reputable, established manufacturer.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, this appears not to be being policed, leaving the door open for the un-certified, rubbish stoves to continue being sold to unsuspecting customers.

EN13240 Certification guarantees you a good stove. Always ask if your stove has got EN13240 Certification. If it hasn't, buy at your peril!
